Kristina E. Miceli

Kristina is the Owner/Director of Power House Dance Academy and the Founder of Power House Dance Company Not for Profit. She graduated from Queens Borough Community College where she received a degree in Fine Arts. She graduated with a Masters in Dance Education receiving summa cum laude Honors from Hunter College  in June of 2023. She performed in two pieces choreographed by Robert Battle, Kristina has also performed a piece that was choreographed by Urban Bush Women's dance company, and another piece by Sidra Bell called Humane Encounter in the Spring of 2021 . In pursuing her dream to perform for others she danced in the SUNY Purchase production of The Nutcracker with the SUNY Purchase Dance Core and the New York City Ballet, as well as being in the movie, The Little Children starring Kate Winslet. In the summer of 2012 Kristina was lead choreographer for Fame Theatrical Productions musical called Seussical the Musical. She has been teaching Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Ballet, Hip-Hop, and Nursery classes for the past 20 years. She was a member of an award winning competition team for over 10 years. Kristina has choreographed many award winning performances from large to small groups as well as, solo's where her students received many high platinum, platinum, high score awards, and special judge awards competing against hundreds of dance routines from the tri-state area. She choreographed an award winning large group performance achieving the “MOST ENTERTAINING AWARD” at Inferno Dance Competition where Kristina also won the very prestigious “OUTSTANDING CHOREOGRAPHY AWARD” for her work on a solo performance of "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga. In the 2018-2019 competition season, Kristina once again won the distinguished "OUTSTANDING CHOREOGRAPHY AWARD" for a co-choreographed piece with Alexandra Scacalossi, "Hallelujah", by Pentatnoix from Dance X Plosions. In the 2021 competition season Kristina's pieces won "OUTSTANDING CHOREOGRAPHY", best use of prop, and story telling awards for her September 11th tribute dance. She also won the "OUTSTANDING CHOREOGRAPHY AWARD" for a soloist piece called "Ending" by Isak Danielson at very renowned Inferno Dance Competition. This past competitive season, Kristina's pieces were well known for their artistry and  realism to controversy topics. Her pieces brought light to hard topics in a beautiful way, that was asked to be showcased at the Peggy Theatre in NYC with her students from Power House Dance Academy.

Alexandra Scacalossi

Alexandra began dancing at the age of four. She is a graduate of Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art & the Performing Arts. During her time at LaGuardia she studied Ballet, Graham and Horton technique. Alexandra had the privilege of working with choreographers Elisa King and Daniel Gwirtzman in the Graduation Dance Concert at LaGuardia. She also studied with the Paul Taylor Dance Company, during their summer intensives. There she studied the Taylor technique and worked alongside current and former company members. She also had the opportunity of learning and performing Taylor's repertoire. To keep herself up to date with dance, she takes a variety of dance classes at Broadway Dance Center. Alexandra has been a dance instructor for the past 13 years, with a focus in contemporary and modern dance. She also works with students who wish to attend performing arts high schools, with great success. In her first season at Power House Dance Academy, Alexandra co-taught the competition team. She won the choreography award for "Hallelujah", by Pentatonix from Dance XPlosions, alongside studio owner Kristina Miceli. She was awarded a special judge award “Breathe of Fresh Air” for her piece “A Moment Apart”. The award recognized and admired her choreography and tribute to modern dance. She is currently teaching the senior competition team. In this past competition season, her piece “Acceptance” won the Excalibur Award, Classic Apogee Award, National Grand Champion 1st Runner Up, Routine on Fire Award, and Choreography award. She was also awarded Choreography Awards for a soloist piece, “Where’s My Love?” and the piece “Sound of Silence”. Alexandra is happy to share her knowledge and love of dance with the students of Power House Dance Academy. She loves having the opportunity for her passion and creativity to grow. 

Millie Costantino

Millie has been dancing for 14 years, assisting for three, and competing since 2014. She is educated in multiple styles of dance, favoring contemporary/modern. While competing, she has won special awards for her execution in modern dance. Millie has appeared in many performances with her most recent at the Peggy Theater in NYC choreographed by Kristina Miceli: “Succumb” and “Bottom of the River.”

Brianna Perez

Brianna has been dancing for 7 years. She attends Fiorello H. LaGuardia and majors in Dance. She takes all types of dance including ballet, modern, technique, lyrical, jazz, Acro, and hip hop. She is apart of the award winning competition team here at Powerhouse Dance Academy. Just this year she performed two pieces choreographed by Kristina Miceli in the Peggy theatre in NYC. Brianna received certification in acrobatic teaching from ACROTRIX. She is excited about her first season of being a lead teacher for the Acrobatic program at Power House Dance Academy this year.

Danielle Miceli

Danielle has been dancing for 20 years and teaching for three.She is currently a Science teacher at Elizabeth Blackwell Middle School 210, when she isn't teaching at Power House Dance Academy. She is trained in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip Hop. She danced in the SUNY Purchase production of The Nutcracker with the SUNY Purchase Dance Core and the New York City Ballet, as well as being in the movie, The Little Children starring Kate Winslet. Danielle was apart of an award winning competition team for 5 years, where she won many prestigious awards. She is happy to teach at Power House Dance, training the youngest members of the Academy for the past six years.
